Google has recently introduced continuous scroll on mobile for “most English searches on mobile in the U.S.”
When you search for something, instead of showing you the “see more” button when you hit the bottom, Google will simply load the next page of results automatically.
Google had a relatively big redesign of their mobile search results earlier this year and this move is really just a continuation of that. They are attempting to make browsing search results more seamless and intuitive with the introduction of this continuous scrolling.
The reason for this is that Google have found that while many people will find what they want in the first few options, sometimes you want to keep looking through the results. In fact, most people who want additional information usually browse up to four pages of search results. It’s very convenient then that Google are now allowing you to browse through exactly that many pages of results before having to hit the “see more” button.
As explained above, this is currently being rolled out for most English searches on mobile within the U.S. So, the big question is, when will this change hit the UK?
